The Astra National Museum Complex- The Challenges of the3rd Millenium

Teodora Puia, Mirela Cretu, Sibiu/ Rumänien

The truth of object takes time to be built. Some people con-sider this the most historical experiences. Its distinction of false is ahistorical, excluding system, changeable, institutionalized and some-times even punitive. The will for truth changes from one period toanother, through the mode of the knowledge of functioning, throughthe way in which it is rent valuable and ascribed to particular times. In our paper" The Astra National Museum Complex TheChallenges of the 3rd Millenium" we just want to sketch the maintendencies of the actual Romanian museology. We want to make ageneral presentation, the evaluation of the existing interpretations, the enumeration of the methodological options and discursive strate-gies. The Romanian museology can no longer be expressed in epi-thets, it must be presented using terms such as" method"," concept"," causality" etc. We don't tell you something fulminating meant toturn down the vision we already have- we can't give you lessons ortell exactly what model we must follow. We just try to detach our-selves from the false familiarity we have towards the" object"through the simple administration of a" shock dose". The deliberatedturning away from the" well- known path" cannot be considered amethod but it creates the possibility to enjoy unusual visions, whichcan be extremely revealing.

Starting from the meeting of the present action with the pastobject of this activity, we emphasize that the museological discourseuntil 1989 was getting closer, through its relationship with fiction, tothe post modern merging between event and imagination.

The variety of observations and details, the besetting idea ofaccuracy has sometimes opposite causes, bestowing to the real somehallucinating shapes. The curator was only an" archaeologist of thepast", charged to bring out to light the rests and to assemble theminto a" museum of modern knowledge".
