It may ferther lyke Your good Grace to be advertifed thatone Thomas Murner, a Frere of Saynt Francisce, whichwrote a booke againſt Luther in defence of the Kinges boke,was oute of Almaigne fent in to England, by the meane of afimple) perfon, an Almaign namyng hymfelfe fervaunt un tothe Kinges Grace, and afferming un to Murner, that the Kinghad gevyn hym in charge to defyre Murner to cum over to hymin to England, and by occafion ther of he is cummen over, andhas now bene here a good while. Wher fore the Kinges Grace,pitiyng that he was fo deceived and having tendre refpecte tothe goode zele that he bereth toward the feith, and his goodhart and mynd toward His Highnes, requyreth Your Grace thatit may lyke you to caufe hym have in reward one hundredpownde, and that he may retourn home, wher his prefence isvery necefsary; for he is one of the chiefe ftays agaynft thefaction of Luther in that parties, agaynft whom he hath wryttenmany bokis in the Almayng tong; and now, fith his cumminghither, he hath translated into Latyn the boke that he byfore madein Almaign, in defence of the Kinges boke.
