F\u00fcr den Leichnam des vom Kreuz abgenommenen Jesus Christus sowie f\u00fcr das Gesicht und die Krone der Gottesmutter wurden ausgeschnittene Lithografien verwendet. Das Kleid Mariens ist aus einer kastanienbraunen Haarstr\u00e4hne gefertigt. Das Haupthaar von Maria und Jesus besteht aus gepressten Haarschnipseln. Die zentrale Darstellung des im Scho\u00df Marias liegenden Leichnams Jesu ist umgeben von Flitterwerk, Borten und Sternengirlanden aus Goldpapier. Unter dem angedeuteten Felsen ist eine Sockelleiste mit der Aufschrift \"Maria die Mutter der Schmerzen\" angebracht. Das Buntpapier f\u00fcr die R\u00fcckseite des K\u00e4stchens ist mit einem sich wiederholenden zweifarbigen floralen Motiv bedruckt. Vermutlich eine Laienarbeit aus dem 19.
